I'm going to be carrying out a FRA in Scotland next week and I've been looking through the PAS 79: 2007 pro-forma for documenting the risk assessment. With the General Information section, section six is 'RELEVANT FIRE SAFETY LEGISLATION'.

Am I correct when making the following assumptions;

6.1 makes reference to the fire safety legislation which applies to the premise - In this case it would be the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006

6.2 looks at who the legislation is enforced by - In this case it would be the Local Authority and Grampian Fire and Rescue (Aberdeen based risk)

6.3 Other legislation that makes significant requirements for precautions in these premises (other than the building Scotland Regulations 2004) - this would be Not Applicable as there is no other legislation.

6.4 the legislation outlined in 6.3 is enforced by - again this will won't be applicable as there is no other legislation.

Martin,

Aside from the 2006 Regulations I would also reference the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 which is the primary piece of relevant legislation.

Although not technically legislation it might be useful to reference sector specific guidance as well (if applicable) - see link below.

thanks for that link, I've had a look through and the premises/company that I'm assessing doesn't fall under any the categories (its a tyre fitting workshop) but I'm sure it will be useful in the future. much appreciated
