Guidance required. How often would a racking system for 1000mm x 1200mm wooden pallets need to be inspected by a competent person? Would it then be possible to provide a link to the relevant legislation. This is not my subject and I would rather pass on an informed link if possible.

Thanks in anticipation

Hi Daz, you should be able to find some info at the SEMA website together with a list of approved inspection companies : http://www.sema.org.uk/page.asp?node=1 I'll also send you a link relating to our own racking checklist system which will allow you to carry out routine checks inbetween your comprehensive inspections.

Try Warehousing and Staorage HSG 76 Para 631 on page 115
"‘Expert’ inspections
646 A technically competent person should carry out inspections at intervals of not more than 12 months. A written report should be submitted to the PRRS with observations and proposals for any action necessary."
