Hi All,
I am trying to compare lost time injury rates for one of our contractors against industry averages but have so far drawn a blank.
I am looking at steel pipe manufacture within Europe in particular. Two hours on google. Including the ILO EU OHSA, Eurostat WHO and HSE websites and I am still none the wiser.
Any advise for a source of information greatly apprecaited.
Many Thanks
Ian

As your request doesn't actually state the classes of statistical data ( in the jargon: categorical, ordinal, interval or ratio) you're looking for, any search is likely to be random.
If you wish to PM me with an outline of the context including your reasons for making this comparison, the particular sector and who you wish to read your report, I'll see whether I can be of help (though I don't promise to spend two hours on the matter!)

As what you are doing is actually a simple form of benchmarking, this is difficult to do well in retrospect.
While you may be able to get some useful data through website-visits and phonecalls to relevant employers organisations or trade associations, this isn't an adequate substitute for ongoing statistical surveys.
So, looking ahead, if you are going to collect and analyse statistical data before presenting them to management, you can invest in a well-written introductioni to statistics.
'Statistical Methods for Business and Economics', G Nieuwenhuis, McGraw Hill, 2009 is the best single guide I've come across; fully worked-out answers to half the problems in the book are provided on a website accompanying the book

Hi Kieran
Many thanks for all the advise, some of it a bit complex for my needs but all noted.
Thanks again
