There seem to be about 30 standard questions/topics raised on this forum
PAT
RIDDOR
Fire Risk Assessment
Risk Assessment
etc
etc
Why not just set up a FAQ page with good standard answers and links to the relevant HSE documents or other good recognised guidance.
It would save much repetition on this forum, like endless questions on the trivia of PAT etc etc

HSE already make a decent fist of these faqs, see no reason to duplicate.

Except for the likes of yourself and other regular contributors to the forum, are constantly answering the same questions/posting similar answers etc.
You could save yourself loads of time.
The IOSH FAQ page could hyperlink to the HSE FAQ page.

JJ, that's a great idea but needs resources to set up and maintain. It is something that the holders of the purse strings would need to be convinced about. The route for this is presumably via your local IOSH branch.

It does seem quite bizarre that an increasing number of forum users ask a question in the hope that someone else will use Google to search for the answer in their stead.
Even more bizarre, many others seem to fall for it!

Even more bizzare that a lot of it is basic nebosh certificate stuff!

and then the poster goes off merrily oblivious with what ever answer appears here...........
I go with JJ's suggestion of faq links - maybe on one of the green tabs above. Would need a bit of work given we've already got a grey "FAQs" tag on the screen up there (at least when you log in you do)
This 'discussion' forum is as often as not used as a help 'forum'. Quite often the answer to the query already exists elsewhere on this very Site.
I do concede that my curiosity is often piqued by some of the queries posted, and I will go and do a bit of reading. That's more about my benefit than anyone else's though. Am I falling into a trap and doing someone else's spade work sometimes? Possibly.
Am I bothered about that? Nah.
