UAE has witnessed/ ing a lot of incidents of children falling from the balcony and getting killed. They claim that the local building codes require the balconies to be of a height of 3 feet and it does not stipulate the design of the balcony and neither restricts on the gaps that could be left in the balcony. I am just wondering if they need to revise their building codes. Can someone advise what are the design codes enforced in UK w.r.t balcony designs for high rise buildings? If possible, please refer me or send me the building codes regarding this. Regards, Prads
