The company I work for have recently moved to new premises where they presently store the LPG cylinders for the fork lift truck in the warehouse on a floor level racking shelf.
Question - Is this satisfactory?
We are also in the process of purchasing an external container for storing small quantities of chemicals & solvents we use in our processes, namely Toluene, MEK, and a 'gunwash' solvent called Zylene.
Can we designate an area of this container for storing the LPG cylinders?

Not enough information given.
Small quantities of LPG cylinders are normally kept outside in a secure wire cage.
However, security issues are also a concern. So if kept inside it remains vital that adequate ventilation is provided / don't keep the bottles in a confined space/small room etc.
If your warehouse is large enough, it could well be acceptable. Also store them away from transport routes etc, to minimise the risk of damage by being hit by moving vehicles etc.
For small quantities of flammable liquids, as indicated, a metal storage 'flammables' locker is normally used. They are usually bright yellow in colour.
Plenty of guidanc eon the HSE website about storing flammable liquids. Guidance book HSG 140 comes to mind

I believe you have to segregate the Toulene from the flammable Gas cylinders - so not in the same compartment or storage compound.
