Whilst i am aware of the various techniques that can be used to locate extra high voltage services, has anyone had an issue with detection in the power mode of the CAT? Various explanations have been offered; some of which are contradictory.

Sweep, Yes I have experienced problems especially when the cables are within an electricity substation when a CAT has proved to be ineffective and ground penetrating radar or GPS systems have proved to be more effective. Have a look at the Radiodetection website or even better phone them they can explain the problem. Another useful website is C Scope. Good luck
