I'm trying to find any case law relating to the heating of outdoor buildings such as sheds, Rubb tents etc. to give us a steer on what the law considered 'practicable' with regard to heating. We are at a bit of a deadlock with the union as we are saying it isn't really practicable to heat a large Rubb tent which is open at one end to the outside for most of the day (plus it is single skinned and un-insulated etc.). The union are saying it must be heated. We are offering alternatives such as wet / cold weather clothing, rest breaks, clothes drying cupboard etc.
I vaguely remember reading about a case at a shipyard where something similar was argued, but can't find it - does anyone have any ideas?

You're entirely correct, and I think I last saw it on one of these "law update" things- but I can't find it either!

A further vague recollection is that the case referred to an oil platform yard in Scotland. Nigg Bay perhaps?
