Hi I've done much trawling of info but regarding FLT's, can anyone offer advice on the minimum requirements on the parts of FLTs required as part of a Thorough Examination? Thanks

I cant point you in the direction of a list - sorry. But if the FLT's are leased then the leasing company as a rule carryout the Thorough Examinations in accordance with LOLER Regs & provide you with a certificate with the results. Any areas where the FLT may fail they normally repair as well. The FLTs that arent leased, Royal Sun Alliance carry out a fantastic service for us. Not exactly what you were looking for.

Normally a thorough examination is done on the mechanical and hydraulic components specific to a particular type of forklift (mast of the forklift, hydrualic pump, pulleys, chains etc). These thorough examinations must be done by a competent person (experienced, knowledgable & trained) such as a mechanical engineer. If your not a competent engineer in this field i would not get involved in conducting thorough examinations.
