Anyone experience to share regarding the pros/cons of using the services of a commercial provider to manage this? I'm particularly interested in larger employers with many hundreds of authorised drivers, a feel for unit costs and the efficiency & security of access to web-based systems and overall I'm interested in the balanced business case for outsource versus the significant internal administration costs and potential for error/abuse if managed in-house.
I am aware of the myriad of providers and of background info. such as http://www.fleetnews.co...._Licence_Check_Guide.pdf
Much obliged to you.

By chance I was with a very large company yesterday. They have in excess of 800 active drivers. They considered using a commercial checking company, but in the end decided to deal directly with the DVLA. They said it was easier and cheaper to do it that way. It works for them, so it may be a viable option.

I wasn't aware DVLA provided this directly, and can't find this on their website. Anyone got a link?
