Hi folks,
My company has recently acquired an Irish company and they would like me to look after the HSSE for their Irish operations. The trouble is that the current HSSE direction comes from a consultancy who are charging way over the odds for little input and are about to be given the boot after a handover.
I wondered if anyone on the forum had any experience of ROI HSSE law and enforcement which i should brush up on before visiting and begining the "blank canvas" excercise of re-building the HSSE systems.
I'm aware so far that the HSA enforce HSSE in ROI and have awareness of the Safety Health and Welfare at Work Regulations, but not a great deal more.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, the 'bible' for health, safety and welfare in my opinion is a book by Raymond Byrne, 'Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Law in Ireland'.
I do quite a bit of of consultancy and use this amongst other resources, another is the IBEC manual which is from the Employers Federation. Get in touch if you need more info.
Tony
