I note the HSE has just published a summary of response to CD 237 (Analysis of Responses Received to Statutory Consultation to the proposed Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012) at http://www.hse.gov.uk/co...ndocs/cd237responses.pdf A somewhat tantalising read, with the HSE acknowledging they will make some changes to guidance proposals follwoing response received, but not giving detail as to what that detail will be! I'm somewhat surprised by the low level of respondents - only 131. Anyone know the timetable for revised Regs and (more importantly) revised ACoP and Guidance?

Ron Other than the 6th April as the implementation date - with a 3 year transition period for the requirement to have notifiable non-licensed work employees medically examined - I haven't seen the revision timetable. I did notice that the HSE indicate that a 30% compliance rate was 'an attempt at a realistic estimate of what will be achievable in the first 10 years' regarding the percentage of workers receiving medical examinations. The Directive on which this change was needed was published in 2003. 9 years in the making and another 3 in the implementing of the bit on medical examinations! But there again it's only worker's health at risk so no rush is needed!! Cheers. Nigel
