Hi all, Ive been asked to write a risk assessement for a 3phase 225kW wind turbine. Im finding nothing online, mainly risk assessments for small turbine installations which are pretty basic. Does anyone have any info in this area? any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

gailpcarson What exactly are you looking for the risk assessment to cover, operation, maintenance, cleaning, repair etc etc. Also if you are unsure of what to include in the assessment then perhaps you should declare this to whoever has requested that you undertake the assessment; and request that some expert/competent help is brought in to assist in the undertaking of the assessment. This may help in ensuring that the assessment is “suitable and sufficient” and if you can shadow the person undertaking the assessment then you can also learn from the experience. Please don’t take the last paragraph as me stating you are not competent, but none of us know everything and it’s important that we know when to bring specialist help in. I on several occasions have had to seek expert help and will undoubtedly have to do so in the future, and I do not see this as me being incompetent and I always try to learn whatever I can from any such occurrence. hi smitch, thanks for your reply. Im looking for information on the installation process starting from the excavations. yes the person who has requested me to do this, knows im unsure as I have not seen one being installed of this size before, I have only dealt with smaller turbines. We are trying to gather as much information as possible from different sources.
