Good Morning All,
I have just been asked a question about mixing chemicals for school swimming pools, not an area that I am involved in, apparently the said chemicals were mixed by hand at one point, now there is legislation coming in to say that all chemicals must be mixed with a mixer.
Me being me would have classed this as an engineering control that should have been in place in any case? Also, what about COSHH?
Does anyone know of such legislation or guidance that exists? (other than COSHH) Many Thanks
Will

I'm unaware of any new legislation - certainly COSHH applies which as you say could include engineering controls to minimise exposure - I know HSE publish a guidance document on Health and Safety in Swimming Pools which may be useful - HSG179 which can be downloaded free of charge - that has a section on chemicals which may help
