Every six months our lifting equipment is inspected by our insurers. For eyebolts, (obviously) they must carry the SWL marked on them. We are also required to have some form of ID on the eyebolt & a visual indicator of the inspection period. We stamp or tag them with an ID & apply a coloured cable tie to show which six month period the inspection was carried out. Stamping takes a lot of time & effort and restricts their use to one location, were as (dog) tagging the eyebolts often results in them being pulled off & no ID being present. We have also tried painting them, but contact with acids & paint build up make this impractical. What do you do to identify & mark your eyebolts?

Stamp, but we only use in one location.
