Afternoon guys, Can anyone advise me on the following; I want to establish a site COSHH area (mostly small recepticles (2 -3 ) for refuelling grinders), and I am wondering if someone can enlighten me as to the size spill kit that should be in place. The area is closed off with fence, signs erected to denote COSHH area and contents, a Fire Extinguisher point is in place, a drip tray and at present I have a 20l spill kit. Is this sufficient?? I have just taken on the Environmental side of things, which as of yet I am not fully aware of all the requirements. Thanks in advance.

I doubt a 20l spill kit would cover it. One spill and it would all be used up and you would have to reorder. People tend to use more absorbents than they really need. You can pick up a 76 Litre kit in a wheelie bin with PPE, absorbents and hazardous waste bags etc for about £120 inc vat. It should last you a while as long as you look after it.

No problem, just run a search for spill kits through a search engine and you'll be able to get an idea of sizes etc. It's always better to have a bit too much than not enough
