Evening all, I'm thinking of investing in the OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor Course, now this is going to set me back £1,400. I've recently completed the NEBOSH Dip and think this is my next step for my career progression, what do you think? Barney#1.

PgC aside, I think this was certainly the most worthwhile course I've done both personally and professionally. It's quite an intensive 5 days, but well worth it. I believe out of all my qualifications, this is the main one that stood me above the rest when I got into the O&G industry.

The lead auditor trainign is something I have put on my list of qualifciations to do next after my MSc. I strongly believe from recent interviews and discussions with agencies that this is something employers are looking for in a lot of positions. I was advised to consider all three disciplines through the conversion courses, lot of money though.

I would make sure that your course is recognised by IRCA as a qualification to join their register, you don't have to join but with the qualification you have the option.

Good qual on paper but I personally felt the course itself was pretty basic. Very useful for the CV. I would tend to stick to BSI as they still hold the most kudos IMO. In fact, when I attended my course training by said body, there were 2 Client Managers from LRQA on it!

The training i received through IOSH - BSI Lead auditors course was superb also note however that there is 3 parts to the full qualification and annual CPD requirement WITH BSI to retain the certificate. All very achievable and worthy, as discussed l have had more work being an auditor!!!!!!! than a general consultant
