I have recently completed a Professional Diploma in Safety, Health & Welfare at Work in University of Limerick, I am also a Manual Handling Instructor and have a Occupational First Aid & Defibrillator qualification.
I am awaiting Grad IOSH status and am working towards reaching Chartered Status (CMIOSH) as soon as possible.
Prior to returning to college, I worked in the motor industry as a sales representative. I also owned and managed a fitness centre.
I will be relocating to London from Ireland once I have found employment.
At present, I have no commercial experience in the Health and Safety industry. Where is the best place to start looking for work for someone with no experience? Are there any organisations you know of who employ recently graduated people?

Hey ya,
I too am from Ire, and came to London almost 7 years ago now. What sector do you want to go into?? I came into construction and love it, new works, new people and new processes everyday, so you are always on your feet.
There are a number ofconstruction companies who take on grads, Byrne Brothers are one (they are from Co. Kerry), I worked with them, and they defo have that scheme, and also Murphy (also from Kerry), and my other half works for them, and they get a lot of Uni guys and girls fresh on work experience.
If you want to know more on the construction side PM me. I may have more to offer you (contacts etc)

Hi folks,
I'm from Donegal and I'm also a recent UL graduate with a BSc in H&S last August. I've also almost finished a MSc in Work and Organisational Behaviour in UL and due to the dire situation this side of the sea, I am interested in moving anywhere abroad that I could find a H&S role.
I'm a little too old for the short term open work permits for Canada and Oz, so the UK seems to be the only other option for me at the moment.
I have 11 months experience in pharma and manufacturing in H&S roles, but I would love to get into construction.
Contacts and/or any other information or advice you could provide would be great, if you don't mind.
Thanks a million.
Sam.
