I am currently preparing some top trump cards for training our social care staff in key risks. One factor I am including is an annual fatality rate - for falls from windows, falls from hoists etc. The HSE fatality stats seem a bit vague. Some deaths are listed as specific as falls from hoists but most just say things like 'died while under medical care'. Does anyone have any suggestions? (I have thought of emailing Chris Greyling to say that, as he got rid of the HSE infoline, can he answer my question?!)

Buzz That is a great idea. I don't know why this hasn't been done before. It would also work in a slightly different way if this was pulled together for primary schools (lower level stuff) and also for pupils going onto work placements. Son of Skywalker

Chris42 You can give points for the safest or best as well. Was that a negative "its Friday and I want it to be the weekend" comment? SOS

Spoke to my colleague about this and he showed me infoprmation that is in module one of the IOSH Managing Safely course. It has some information used in a quiz format that could be incorporated into the trump card format. SOS

SOS No offence meant, I generally like the idea, but when I last played top trumps (a very long time ago) the highest value always won, and Buzzlightyear was looking at fatality rates. My mind unfortunately connected the two. The weekend means nothing to me, every day is job hunt day, I don't ever take a day off from this activity and if I do anything else for very long I feel guilty. Same issue when feeling sick, If I can't work I can't do anything else. Anyway no disrespect to Buzz and I make it a personal rule to never mess with anyone with a jet pack and ray gun (or light saber).
