I have just come across a situation where a construction site is using a tower crane type platform to pump concrete to high level, never seen this bit of kit before and cannot find any guidance for the H&S of such equipment. Can anyone help in training the legislation, guidance, standards for this? I believ that it is called a Self Placing Concrete pumping tower It is not an extendable boom type concrete pump!

Do you mean a concrete placing boom?? If so did you get the make?? That way you can actually get the info from the manufacturer. Like this: http://www.schwing.com/01_cpumps/separate/

Not sure if this will be of use: BS 8476:2007 'Code of practice for the safe use of concrete pumps.
