We are a a large global organisation and our staff travel across the globe to a range of continents and countries.
I've been asked if we have a 'position' on staff using motorcycle taxis. A bit of initial research suggests these are becoming more widespread and are even available in the UK.
Instinctively, I'm thinking we should discourage staff from using them if other 'safer' (and I use that word understanding the varied standard of driving around the world) methods of travel are available.
Anyone got any experience/advice on this?

Tim, 4 wheels plus a steel body compared to 2 wheels and no exo-shell gives an answer. 3 wheels provides a mid-point but if you've ever been driven through Delhi or Bangkok you'll know how terrifyingly "safe" these are.
I'm strictly a 4 wheel driver for work although I do venture on to two wheels when rarely it doesn't rain.
Stick with your instincts.

Motorcycle taxis are relatively common in London, I have no idea what the accident stats are but I have to say I would prefer an experienced professional riding a bike transporting me to a typical London mini cab.

I'd avoid being drawn into such a specific issue. The employer should(?) have a wider travel policy and system of expenses, then again in a global sense there is no real opportunity to set any sort of standard.
I take it your talking business and not free leiure time outwith business hours (frolic of my own type of thing).
In my own limited experience, if there was no reputable agency or hire car firm, the client would pick me up and take me back to the airport/hotel , or sometimes send a chaffuered vehicle. That sort of arrangement though does tend to depend on who's buying and who's selling!
