I have been tasked with giving a short presentation at an event I only have 10 minutes and would want to make an impact but also keep it humorous as it is a fun day All this without loosing the importance of H&S If anyone has done this before and has some funny antidotes etc I would appreciate it Thanks Alan

There are some hilarious PPE cartoons out there which ridicule, but make a valid point ..... http://nationalsafety.wo...eaker-and-more%E2%80%A6/ Good luck - lots of pictures is good and moves the presentation on apace

I like the following quote as a warning against complacency: First slide: 'When anyone asks me how I can best describe my experience in nearly forty years at sea, I merely say, uneventful. Of course there have been winter gales, and storms and fog and the like. But in all my experience, I have never been in any accident... or any sort worth speaking about. I have seen but one vessel in distress in all my years at sea. I never saw a wreck and never have been wrecked nor was I ever in any predicament that threatened to end in disaster of any sort.' Second slide: Captain E. J. Smith - 1907, Captain, RMS Titanic

Lunn15679. Every now and then this forum provides a really novel and useful nugget: many thanks for this. Epic.

Alan - if you choose to use Lunn15679's excellent novel suggestion, be prepared for some people to comment that Captain E J Smith wasn't captain of the Titanic until its maiden voyage in 1912, especially in view of all the publicity earlier this year about the centenary of that disastrous voyage. Presumably Captain Smith made his comments in 1907. Also, just in case anyone asks, the prefix RMS means 'Royal Mail Ship'. I didn't know myself until I did an internet search a few minutes ago.

Hi Alan I'm not sure that I have what you are looking for but I was recently tasked with the same. In this case it was a maximum 20 minutes but my team did it in 10 minutes. The theme revolved around a news broadcast, which as a top story was reporting on an escalation in hand injuries within a company. The script was very basic but involved the team and a three minute exercise at the end which went down very well. If you would like a blow by blow account of the presentation, just let me know. Thanks
