Dear all, I am needing clarification on legislative requirements/guidance information relating to playground surfaces. Specifically where low impact falls may occur (typically toddlers). Any assistance on locating specific material would be appreciated. Many thanks

No specific legislation other than HASAW & the Management Regs - but guidance aplenty. Try your search engine for play equipment providers eg Sutcliffe Play (other providers available) or RoSPA has some good help sheets. All of the guidance however will lead you back to BS EN 1176 for equipment and BS EN 1177 for surfaces. Organisations like Association of Play Industries do a guide to the above standards which I believe is a free download from their website. The type and extent of surface will depend on the age range and the fall height - the above guidance should help.
