Afternoon all, I would like your advise please on Manual Handling Training. Can I deliver the training via a company specific TBT training method, or should I just get a training company in?? Nothing to do with costs, more of a question of can I do this?? Thanks.

Depends on the scope of the training. If it includes teaching and assessing practical handling techniques, personally I wouldn't do this without having been on a Train the Trainer course that covered how to do this.

I was thinking of an in-house session done by myself, for construction operatives, on the correct lifting techniques, if anyone has back problems I can refer them to the OH nurse.

Hi Yes you can give the training in house , TBH I feel it is more effective as you can be task specific regards Dave

Hi Lawlee, I train in-house with a team of supervisors but we all attended a Train the Trainer Course last year. We decided that before training out an in-house package to colleagues, we would make sure our techniques were up to date as they have changed since I originally took a Train the Trainer course in 2003.
