Dear all,
I have responsiblities for very dusty workplaces (cement plants), clearly the use of compressed air for cleaning down clothes is not desirable, can any one out there recommend a cost effective solution, I await your suggestions!

Suck, not blow, with filter to suit the particle size. A standard domestic vacuum cleaner will do a great job of redistributing inhaleable fine dust as I stupidly found out at home.

As above +
Wash down?
Improve controls to prevent dust in the first place?

Washing down not really an option, the de dusting systems are fine, but when we do maintainence and in particular contractors, then they get dusty not from airbourne more from kneeling, laying down etc, have used small rechargeable vacuums in the past, and they worked quite well, just wondered what anyone else was using.

Would using single use disposable overalls be a viable option? You can pick these up pretty cheap.

There are 'blow guns' that suck instead of blow. No moving parts, just compressed air using a venturi principle. The one I have used can be fitted with a brush head and was extremely successful in brushing down protective clothing to remove dust. If you PM me I can point you in the direction of where you could find these. Incidentally, the gun can be fitted with a variety of nozzles to get into awkward places.
