Does anyone have experience of spray paint canisters exploding during in hand. Would like to understand any causal fractures which lead to incident.

Whilst not a paint canister, this story may have some relevance/ http://www.shetlandtimes...-blameless-rules-sheriff

Not a paint can, but I had a aerosol of deodorant from a major supermarket that discharged liquid propellant from the nozzle - got cold burns from the flamable liquid evaporating.

From the above link "We hope that lessons will be learned from James’s death so no other family will experience the trauma that we have" I don't see what lessons were learnt, as there was only a suggestion it was due to excessive heat, from somewhere. The canisters you are referring to, are they the small spray cans as you find in your local Car parts / DIY shop or are you referring to the canister on an airless spray gun rated at 5,000 PSI ?
