Hi everyone,
Hopefully you can share your thoughts/ideas on the HSE's Proposed Health and Safety (fees) Regulations 2012. I have, informally, discussed the Fees For Intervention model with senior management but was thinking of putting together a small power-point presentation which covers the potential implications for our business.
I would be interested to hear what you are doing/have been doing in your respective businesses.
Any advice/comments would be appreciated.

Thanks Ray - I set myself up like a kipper there! :-)
I will try again...I was curious to know what others have been doing to INFORM their employers of the HSE cost recovery scheme i.e. by presentations, reports.

We have a legislation review meeting every quarter to identify any proposed or amended regulation. This informs the board of any issues that may affect the business. As we already pay the regulator for their services it's not going to affect us.

We've discussed it at Safety Committee meeting, minuted it and circulated the minutes. No report, no presentation.
I may be looking at it rather simplistically, but if you take reasonable efforts to manage your risks (which you should be doing anyway) you should keep yourself off the HSE radar, and FFI in itself shouldn't be a major concern. In saying that, FFI might be a good opportunity to remind managers/employers of the need to manage risks, as I suppose it has the potential to add another layer of cost.
I wonder who else might follw suit!?
