I believe that this year the official safety Guidance on working from home has been modified- anyone able to direct me to it?

What do you mean by ‘official’?
There is stuff about this on the HSE webpages (which is ‘official’ for everyone) or are you referring to NHS guidance which is ‘official’ within the NHS just as I have ‘official’ guidance that is relevant to the civil service?

HSE- announced as part of the "simplification"- much of the info. on their pages appears to relate to "old" info now superceded- although what "Best Practice" states is always worth knowing...

The homeworking guidance was downsized in mid-2011 as the existing version of indg226 is only 1 page if you do not count the second page that has publishing detail compared to the 12 pages in the June 2006 version. The old version did have guidance that is duplicated elsewhere, but in my view was comprehensive.
There is a consultation out on "Proposals to exempt from health and safety law those self-employed whose work activities pose no potential risk of harm to others" that will close on 28th October 2012.
