Having just been advised by my employer that, in these hard times, they consider that they do not need competent Health and Safety advice, I am available.
I am CMIOSH and based in South Tyneside with Nottingham Trent Diploma in Safety, Health and Environment Management gained in 2001.
I currently hold qualifications as a scaffold inspector, DGSA and appointed person for cranes although these are not required in my current position and expire this year. I am familiar with permit to work and confined space entry.
My current role is Group Health and Safety Advisor with a manufacturer of power electronics with some 200 employees and my pet project was moving the organisation towards 18001 certification - we were in the latter stages, although I think this will now be scrapped.
My previous role was Site SHEQ responsible for 3 sites, 2 of which were top tier COMAH and all three were PPC (now EP) sites.
Prior to that, I was with a specialist engineering company providing mechanical joint integrity services to the petrochem and offshore industries.
My expereince as a Health and Safety Manager/Advisor spans over ten years. Prior to this, I had experience of Merchant Navy (tankers) petrochemical inspection at home and abroad (middle east) and Royal Navy.
