I have a study to carry out on ergonomics and the prevention of vibration white finger.
How can altering ergonomic factors help reduce the possibility of the onset of vibration white finger.
Does anyone have any information or good study material on the above subject, this will be equivocal in me completing the course – any information will help thanks.

Google is a wonderful tool
https://www.google.co.uk...amp;biw=1360&bih=643
lots of links to academic units that carry out research in this area, I would start any project like this with a literature review. I assume that's what you are after links too?
When you say 'a study to carry out' - does this involve practical assessment on a cohort, sounds interesting!
try PMing a guy called KieranD - the master of all things ergonomic!

Yes basically the study is a piece of course work for ergonomics modules of the final year of an H&S Degree.
The title is Preventing VWF with Ergonomics. So topics such as tool design, PPE, information and training, etc. Any other topics you can think of under the title will help as I have just got the course work today and hit stop at the above topics, as I do not hold a monopoly of great ideas all the help I can get is appreciated

The root ergonomic issue about vibration white finger is the hazard of very severe musculoskeletal disorders arising from prolonged exposure over time to the combination to repetitive arm and hand movements, the use of force and perhaps a bit less of postural strain.
Risk management therefore entails measuring and controlling these factors with appropriate adaptations for differences associated with gender and with age.

Since it is a piece of academic coursework I would expect you to be using Google scholar instead of Google, http://scholar.google.co.uk/ which is the gateway to academic papers.

Loughborough Univesity did a lot of research into this. I think (stand to be corrected) that the OPERC website evolved from their research.
I attended a Branch Seminar a few years ago from one of the researchers I think his name was:-
Dr David Edwards. you can access the OPERC website for free once you register, failing that give them a ring and I am sure they will be able to help.
