Hi Lamsey Very difficult mate at the moment , I have just really got the my foot in and that's with 20 years in construction. What I did was basically went through the Occupational health and safety register and hounded everybody. Probably sent 250 emails explaining why it was a good idea to hire me. Eventually got word back from Safety Manager at local government who where re structuring and needed all hands on deck to bring all the council services back in house. Offered me 6 months which just ended last week although they wanted me to another 6 but I declined having landed a power station role " perfect" Now this was with construction cert & unit A & B diploma and 20 years in the game ! But you may well find you have a lucky break and that's all it takes sometimes this along with a passion for health and safety and feeling you can make a difference. It will come off I firmly believe if you hound & hound explain where your at present and keep going mate. I think I took a step backwards going into local government , but I can now say I have taken 3 steps foreword especially after watching what goes on and just taking it all in and learning. So just get into the system in anyway but make sure its something that there is a good chance it will lead into safety in some way or another and keep hounding mate. just reading the posts on this site shows its fairly grim mate but keep going Did I mention keep hounding everybody, good luck j
