Does anyone have any experience of incident management software e.g. Rivo? Please could you let me know what system your company uses and how many people you employ. Pros and cons?

Thanks

We use Datix, in a company of around 2,5000 spread over 400+ sites. It is Healthcare focussed, but we have had no trouble configuring it to work in Charity retailing, our warehouse, our offices and so on. It's web-based so suits us, and it has a good workflow so we can track just what is happening as follow-up etc. It's also modular, and we are going to be rolling out the Risk Management and Equipment Register modules fairly soon. It's also competitively priced.

So, if you're in engineering it might not be the ideal solution for you, but these things I can generalise: web-based is very useful; make sure the workflow is good; go for one that allows investigators to attach documents; if it will integrate with other risk control systems that's a big plus,

We employ about 1500 spread across the east and London. We use RIVO and whilst it is far better than a paper based system I find it frustrating, expensive and doesn't do what I want it to do. However it is important to note that I didn't purchase the system so it may just be the way it was originally configured. I am frustrated by them as they want money to change our logo etc. When reviewing reports you don't get to see all the actions so you could assume that an investigation has not been concluded correctly etc.
However I have come from a paper based system so I am happy that we have it. Users find it OK to use although there are issues with completion (user incompetence in many cases!). I find it expensive as you have to pay for lots of licences if you want managers to investigate etc incidents in their area.
I hope this helps.
I would recommend that you scope exactly what you want of the system you purchase and ask a number of suppliers to come and present to you what they can do with costs etc - having asked for opinions about electronic systems you get a whole variety of response which often conflict so it can be confusing

Another thing to look for; Datix has open access to the initial report form, there is no need for users to sign in. Once the report has been made the manager has to sign in to progress it etc, but it is essential that there is no sign in for the person making the report, as signing in might well deter reporting,

Info Exchange are worth a look - web based, cost effective, configured to your requirements and no need to log in (for JWK)

Yep, used Rivo. Its a good solid product and can be tailored specifically to your organisation. Can be used for large or small single sites however, the main strength of the software is being able to use across multiple sites.

Hope that helps

Airsweb - This was demo'd amongst several who tendered for our business circa 6 years ago - It won hands down back then but I moved on before integration so cannot comment now - This would be the 1st word I would google if looking again now.
Infact, I'm curious and am going to take a look now.
