Hello, If there was an instance whereby an employee was carrying out some service work outside of the UK and received an electric shock which had 'the potential to cause death' would it be RIDDOR Reportable as the employee was 'at work' for the UK company, but the incident occurred outside of the UK. I have a feeling it is...any opinions?

The Regulations apply to Great Britain but not to Northern Ireland, where 13 separate Regulations have been made. They also apply to certain work activities carried out in United Kingdom territorial waters adjacent to Great Britain and in the United Kingdom sector of the Continental Shelf (see regulation 12). These are the work activities specified by the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 (Application outside Great Britain) Order 2001 (SI 2001/2127) (the 2001 Order) which include, for example, offshore installations, wells, pipelines and pipeline works, and related activities. From this HSE guidance http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/priced/l73.pdf

Thanks redken, I just wasnt sure if it was the location of the accident/incident that made it reportable or the location of the employer regardless (i.e. in the uk).
