Hi, Does anyone have an example coshh assessment as I have seen so many different ones I'm not quite sure what they are supposed to look like. Rob

There is no prescribed format. The purpose of assessing processes or tasks involving hazardous substances, preparations, mixtures or by-products (dust, fume etc.) is no different from any other risk assessment - determine the controls required to adequately manage the risk. As we've discussed here many times, too many "example" COSHH assessments incorrectly regurgitate safety data sheet goobledy-gook instead of focussing on the actual task. Other "COSHH" assessments are often produced for products that aren't actually hazardous to health. If the hazards and controls are adequately captured within the "Management Regs" general risk assessment process for the whole task (inc, storage, transport and disposal), then that's fine too - no need for a separate piece of paper. HSE COSHH essential pages are worth a read.
