Dear Colleagues,

My employer is looking to run some trials on a particular waste stream which contains mercury.

We have appointed a specialist to carry out occupational monitoring, sampling etc.

Can anyone suggest a good source of information looking at occupational health surveillance, frequency etc for mercury?

I know this will be based on risk assessment, but if just looking for indication etc at this stage.

I dont see much specfic guidance on HSE-Website. I have looked at MDHS 16/2, HSL BMGV, COSHH etc.

Many Thanks

MAT

MAT, if the person you have engaged to carry out the hygiene monitoring is competent they should be able to advise on what you ask.

Maybe not what you need but lots of info for a good starting point re biological monitoring of staff to prove your controls are working.

Sorry for the massive links.
