I am struggling with the concept of 'Crown Fire Standards' (CFS). I believe that they are the equivalent to ADB and must be referred to where Crown Premises apply. So for new buildings and significant building changes,(and in some cases during FRAs) to Crown premises CFS must be used. Am I right so far??

However, I have access to a copy of the CFS and it seems so outdated & far behind ADB and the Govt FS guidance, it's almost impossible to use. I have sought advice from CPIG (crown fire inspectors) who have been less than helpful.

Has anyone any experience using this guide and if so, their exact status as I'd rather use ADB, BS and Govt Guides and forget about this document - but can I? Plus, does anyone know if they are to be replaced soon?

We use ADB, BS and Govt Guides etc rather than the CFS.
I have not revisited these documents recently but is there anything in the CFS that CONTRADICTS the later documents rather than is just a lower standard? If there is no contradiction just an enhancement then use the later documents. Our Crown Inspector was OK about this (he didn’t mention this as an issue).
