Good Morning,
I have a quick question regarding using emails as evidence for IPD's.
I can only access webmail from home which is in plain text format. Will IOSH accept this as a copy and paste.
How did others submit emails as evidence ?
Also is there a limit on the amount of emails you can use as evidence ?
As have not seen any guidance on this.
Many Thanks,

I submitted them in text format as IOSH list acceptable formats for upload docs - the only one that comes close for email is word or plain text format!
I had a quick look but can't find the list of acceptable formats as my IPD is now locked. I am sure when you click upload it lists formats you can submit - pst files are not listed
Good luck - I'm glad that process is behind me :)

Thanks for the reply.
So I am assuming you copied and pasted into a word file.
The emails come out in a horrible plain text and do not look very attractive.
It certainly is a hard process but I am hoping will be worth it in the end.
In regards to using emails as evidence can you shed any light on this ?
For example if you create a training presentation, you may have a couple of draft versions and then the rest could be emails with course bookings etc.
But how emails is acceptable before you cross the line of using too many emails as evidence ?
Thanks :)

When I completed my IPD I used all sorts of documentary evidence. The idea is that you are showing evidence that you have completed or been involved in a particular activity. That evidence can be anything from training presentations, meeting minutes, memos, emails, hand written notes etc. Anything that demonstrates your involvement. It doesn't matter how attractive it looks and I don't believe there is a cap on a particular documentary format, in fact the more the merrier in my view, as long as it is relevant to the activity being described.
I stand to be corrected on this but I don't believe there are quotas for particular types of evidence, the only criteria are that evidence should be relevant and should demonstrate your involvement.

I used e mails as evidence. I printed them as PDFs and uploaded them. Because my boss sat next to me I would use them to confirm conversations and ask that he replied to them to complete the evidence. In normal work situation the conversation would suffice but for IPD you need the evidence.

Maybe - Pdf is better, I did that for a number of items- See M's comment - but I used notepad! I didn't have time to make it look pretty! If IOSH want pretty they should accept a wider range of formats :) For Pdfing - I use http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/(other exist - this one is just open source) Then you can just print straight to PdF

Thanks for the excellent responses so far.
It is making a lot more sense now and the task doesn't seem as daunting.
I have lots of areas of my work I can use, it was just worrying me filling all the evidence sections up and also in what format

You could always take screenshots (Alt-PrntScrn and paste into Word).
