Dear All, on the scrounge here I'm afraid! I need to revamp our company Health & Safety Manual that is provided to all those in a management position following training; to be perfectly honest, it's a little dull and a review is well overdue. I'm looking for inspiration really, has anyone out there got a good example I could use as a basis for mine? What I'm after, is something engaging, motivational, colourful etc that might just get me out of the starting gate! For what its worth, I'm happy to share mine in exchange.....

The very word "manual" will have them scampering for the exits! Intranet or company web pages might be a better bet if you've got the resources/justification - something managers can dip into as needed.

Thanks Ron, you're quite right. In fact we do have a very interactive intranet site that works well. What I'm trying to do is provide managers with a quick reference guide that does not rely on intranet connection, the reasons for that are numerous and sensitive! If only this job was easy and straightforward..........

I agree with Ron, managers will file the manual next to their company induction booklet. Intranet is the way forward - embrace digital technology wherever possible.

Also agree with Ron. We now use the company 'intranet' as the means for managers / staff access all our H&S policies / guidance / information etc.

Yes We have been using the intranet for years as our ‘manual’. Pages of information on policies procedures guidance etc. And it is easier to update. Now if we could get people to actually read it then I’ be happy as Larry!
