Apologies if this is a repost, which I'm sure it is, but the search function is not working for me at the moment.

I've recently moved into a new industry and I'm wondering how much a subscription to Barbour EHS is for a single person, and if it is worth it in your opinion?

The company I am with will not stretch to the expense, however they are expecting a lot and I'm thinking of using this facility as a crutch for a period until I am bedded in.

I'm adept at frantic googling and finding information quickly (a core job skill I'm sure you'll all agree), however I'm finding I don't even have the time to do that as I'm being pushed quite hard already.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Zeb - quite a layout for an individual at around 2.5k (depending on which elements you elect) if your company is not prepared to run to the expense I'd stick with HSE webpages and good ole google (other providers are available) AND of course the IOSH forums.

We use Croner, which is still quite a layout at about (off the top of my head) £1k a year (+VAT), but it may be they do more basic packages.

Thanks for the responses guys.

2.5k is completely out of the question for sure, but 1k might be bearable if the quality is good.

In your opinion tenn1svet, do you think the quality of the information surpasses what you'd get from the usual googling and cribbing from company websites?

The kind of things I am after are waste management plans, traffic management plans, quality plans, which I will adapt to suit our business and also any industry specific information I can use (civils/utilities)

I'd take the short term financial pain for the long term gain of putting these things into place quickly so I can get on with the job of actually implementing the measures.
