Hi Guys
I was looking to find out if the installation of Latchway Mansafe systems are notifiable under the CDM. My client has 70 to install to 70 sites. Each site is a different contract with the work to last about 2 days per site with two man teams. If they are individual jobs do they need to be notified under CDM.
Any advice or information would be helpful. I tried phoning the number on the HSE poster but was informed the HSE does not give out advice anymore.

Hi Robert,
in my opinion they would not be notifiable as each individual site would only have work at the location for approximately two days and therefore are not covered by the Notification regulation.
They would still be subject to parts 2 and 4 of the CDM Regulations.

From the description given, a definite NO. You state these are all different contracts ( = presumably different client) therefore cannot be considered as a whole "Project".
In any event, the real onus in a CDM/Notification context rests with the commissioning Client.
