One for the dangerous goods safety advisors out there. In Jan 2013 Iata are changing the rules about send Lithium Ion batteries by air. It has been suggested that if we send a mobile phone with battery or mobile battery by post we will require a nice big sticker, I have read through the adr regs and cant see anything about this. i would think that a battery would be classed as limited quantities or be exemptdue to the size
any thoughts?

Potts, it looks like specialist advice from a DGSA will be required. The IATA is already producing a leaflet for air passengers. (Needs enlarged on computer) http://www.iata.org/what...ttery_PassengerFlyer.jpgIt seems that rules will depend upon quantities and battery rating, and whether the battery is part of the phone or hand or hold luggage. Be grateful that you do not live in Australia: I understand that there is a blanket ban on sending any lithium battery by air.
