Hi All
I'm currently working as a safety specialist for a large retail store in the North East, but looking to move to the Highlands or Aberdeen area.
I have the NEBOSH General Certificate, and am a manual handling instructor as well as First Aid/AED instructor. I host the bi-monthly H&S committee meetings, and conduct all the H&S trainign for the store.
I'm hopefulyl starting the NEBOSH diploma in the new year, but am looking for advice to increase my employability!
Any advice or suggestions would be welcome!
Many regards
MickD

Hi Mick
I assume by the question that you're not moving with a job, any ideas of what you want to do? Are you hoping to break into the Oil and Gas sector or maybe stay in retail?

Hi nickygee
I'd be happy with either, to be honest...
I know that for the gas and oil field, I'd have to undertake extra training - the basic offshore survival package plus maybe an offshore first aid course, and have been looking at maybe doing these courses in the New Year.
I'm not moving with the job, but would like to move the family back to Scotland.
Cheers

Hi Mick
Just my tuppenceworth but here goes. If you're interested in oil related HSE, don't spend too much on training' as it's unlikely you'll get an offshore role straight away. Go for an 'office' based role with a view to some offshore visits and take it from there. Completing your BOSIET would be an advantage in some cases, but most companies will ensure you get the training you require once you're settled in.
Good luck anyway.
Cheers
Nick
