Good morning
I have a particular hearing protection problem to solve and one avenue I am pursuing is to assess the use of individaually supplied, moulded plugs - has anyone any experience of using these type of plugs and if so, contact details for the providers would be appreciated
Thanks in advance

Jeff,
Good morning.
I have used moulded ear plugs supplied by EMTEC (01743 709480).
We have found them to be very good.
Regards
Geoff

Yes we used to use Variphone ones, my little case has variphone.com on it so I guess that will work for contact details, the guy was based in Bristol but willing to travel ( I may still have direct contact details if you want) .
They were just under £100 but that was a few years ago now. They man that came was very helpful and fitted in his visits around our 24 hr a day/ 7 day a week shift patterns both when supplying and periodically monitoring their fit etc.
They can be set for the levels you want per individual. I used to wear mine in an open plan office, when I needed to concentrate. It was also a good excuse for ignoring people shouting across the office for me, Ha Ha. I also liked the fact that they could be washed by the user in warm soapy water, and not having so many little foam plugs on the shop floor.
I have nothing to do with this organisation. (is there an accepted acronym for this).

I found them to be good but on the flip side, there is the additional cost if the operative loses one - we found this to be faily constant so we went back to defenders and disposable plugs.

I love mine, I personally find the disposable ones difficult to fit, however some people are unable to get on with them, they can be uncomfortable to wear initially and you don't know if they are going to be right for you until you have made the initial outlay

Barry Mitchell - not used myself but heard good things, was going to go down this route myself, but settle for the new UVEX plugs, very comfortable...

Got mine from Defendear on a BOGOF deal - very good - wouldn't leave home without them.

Just looked at my own: At Source QX
Much more comfortable for me than plugs or muffs although as a consultant my need for protection is infrequent and short duration. Anecdotal evidence says they are less likely to be misused, hence more efficient at reducing exposure, more likely to be cared for.

I first used moulded ear plugs over 25 years ago when there was a reluctance to wear any form of hearing protection.
They were well accepted by a workforce who were working in a high temperature environment.
I also found they were acceptable in an area which had a prominently female workforce who simply refused to wear ear muffs.
I should say that I have no connection with EMTEC who were the suppliers of the moulded ear plugs. EMTEC do have extensive experience of moulded ear plugs and I believe were the first supplier in the UK.
I still have my original ear plugs which are still in excellent condition.

Same topic with a twist. Being a deaf old git with 2No. hearing aids I find it a right pain in the whatever when fitting ear plugs etc. Aids out/plugs in/defenders on/off/in/out/shakeitallabout/out and aids back in again and all that jazz.
Whatever you guys do PLEASE PLEASE wear the dam things. Too much Led Zep really does hurt!
