Hello,
One of our floors will undergo a small refurb, we intend on knocking down an office to make room for 2 banks of desks.
I want to advise my facilities department of the do’s and don’ts H&S wise.
Does anyone have a sample of a risk assessment that can put me on the right track?
Many thanks and HAPPY CHRISTMAS.

Do it over the weekend.
Don't leave a mess.
Usually works fine.

Office built since 2000? - if not, possible asbestos use in construction.
A Wednesday is a good time to do it.
Does building owner agree to works?
Any load bearing issues?
Is there a problem with the fire escape routes after the wall comes down?
Any pipes, dry risers, power, security and fire alarms running through the wall?
The people doing it (facilities) are they trained in demolition?
Is there a false ceiling and raised floor?
How do you get rid of the waste material and where?
I don't have a risk plan to offer, only the above things to suggest, it's early yet, you'll get a few more answers I'm sure.
Happy Christmas.

From a fire point of view:
Ensure floor and wall coverings are to fire resisting standards
Introduce a system of iolating smoke detection that may be actuated by dust (writing a penalty clause of say £2000 per actuation during the contract stage often sharpens the contractor's minds and keeps them focused on preventing such alarms!)
Making a waste removal plan/schedule so builders waste isn't left in the building or on escape routes
Similarly, a similar plan for the delivery & storage of builder's supplies and tools
It's unlikely that any hot work will be required (other than plumbing). But consider a hot works control measure including the contractor supplying their own extinguisher (as they will nick yours)
Good luck
