Hi Everyone, Looking for some information on dehydration/hydration saliva test kits and there availability. I was informed that these were on the market and provided a quick solution for detecting signs of dehydration. However when trying to search for more info on the net there seems to be a lack of suppliers and current information. Has anyone had any experience with these types of kits and their reliability in detecting dehydration issues? Thanks

http://www.gcamerica.com...ive/Saliva_Check_BUFFER/ We had a couple of these on trial from one of my US counterparts...didn't sit well as it was primarily designed for use in the dental arena. Would be more use if your operating arena was paediatrics... If you can spit you are probably not that far gone anyway and lets the medical planning rely on reactive rather than proactive measures.

I believe that in the Middle East it's more common to provide a chart that shows how urine colour is affected by dehydration, as the first level of checking.

There are a number of options including displaying a different colour flag depending on relative humidity and temperature. Urine colour charts are provided as an indicator or over and under hydration. These are common in most sites I have audited in the UK....
