I wondered what peoples view on these were?
The idea is that you can have one on the ground floor and one on the first floor , and if they detect smoke in the ground floor it will alarm at the first floor as well. A drinking pal has a property that has sleeping accommadation on a first floor and offices on the ground and wondered if this could be used to improve the fire safety, without the cost of automatic fire alarm system.
Thanks in advance

Interlinked smoke detection is always an improvement. But I don't understand what you want to know?
Is there no means of raising alarm already installed?
If not , then yes it's a great idea!
