Can some one please point me in the direction of a 9001 summary.

I am new to 9001 and would like some basic information on the management system before delving deeper.

I have the standards but would also like people's opinions or do and don't from people who have experience implementing the systems

You should go on a 1 day ISO 9001:2008 foundation course. This will give you an excellent insight into all the different clauses in the standard and how they apply to your organization.
