Racking - competency to replace damaged parts

Any thoughts will be appreciated, we have our racking inspected every 12 months by our insurance company - using SEMA trained inspectors. Monthly we inspect the racking by in house staff who have been on the SEMA basic rack inspection course. Daily the truck drivers check the racks as they use it - so the inspection is covered!
Now to replace a damaged item of racking, will our extensive engineering team be considered competent, especially if they work with out racking inspector? One of our maintenance team has been on the basic SEMA inspection course. They are competent staff under PUWER for all our machinery.
The replacement will be a like for like basis, following the manufacturer instruction.
I believe they will be competent. Do you agree?
Thanks

Nick - The key is replace like-for-like, these components can be changed but the system can not be reconfigured in any way. I have previously worked with in house racking teams who are competent to undertake these type of repairs.
Run any works by your racking systems provider to ensure works are ok - there are many system out there with many configurations don’t treat them the same.
