In the same week I read about David Cameron telling business leaders there was too much Health & Safety regulation hindering the employment of young persons came a very tragic fatallity involving a new engineering apprentice.

Other links are available to this story - Mail / Manchester Evening News / Northern Voice etc..

Whilst deepest sympathy and heart felt condolences are due to the family one post down the page really raised my heckles - "Company Dissolved 10th January 2013"

As others have noted in previous posts pehaps as a country we are missing one new piece of legislation - the one that prevents Directors shirking their responsibility and being held accountable by simply "shutting up shop" - a question for my MP and yours?

These so called "phonexi firms" have been subject to great debate, and I agree something needs to be done.

Mentioned in SHP: http://www.shponline.co....rise-of-the-phoenix-firm

Sincere sympathies to all impacted by this incident.

I don't believe that the company involved is dissolved at all. The company named in most of the online articles was dissolved (many years ago) but this young man's employer continues to trade. For how much longer is unclear, of course.
