Happy New Year to you all!
I am interested to hear what arrangements companies and employees make when undertaking a residential version of the NEBOSH diploma. More specifically what terms if any, were agreed to pay back costs should the employee decide to leave during or after completion. I am trying to ascertain some industry experience on how companies sponsor this level of study whilst building in some financial guarantee.
Many thanks.

We factor in repayments over a period of time e.g. if you left within 12 months of successful completion 75% of cost 18 months 50% 2 years 25%

The last 3 companies I have worked for have factored in repayments reducing over time, similar to DP. However I know that my current company have not enforced repayment in the last 2 cases apparently, but that is just hearsay.

We can pitch for items to be included in our personal training plans for the year, which must be agreed by our boss' boss (Director level). Anything outside this can be applied for separately and a business case made, but this second category comes with a commitment to repay if you leave within 3 yrs (forget the percentages).
As far as residential goes, it's unlikely we'd spare the time for more than a week-long course, especially if a distance learning alternative is available. I would have liked to study for the NEBOSH Diploma but took the NVQ L5 route for this reason.
